MP5 Magazine Disassembly Tool

The original tool is made from USA-sourced 6061 aluminum. Some customers were worried about the tool scratching the mag so I made the 2.0 version. The 2.0 is made from a high-density plastic. 

I personally make most of the tools here in Michigan on a Bridgeport mill. That being said orders have picked up and I have teamed up with a local CNC shop to help me keep up with demand. 

This tool is designed for the curved steel 9mm H&K MP5 magazine. It does not work on the plastic/polymer magazines or the 22LR MP5 mags. I have tested the tool using factory H&K mags, and KCI mags (10rd, 20rd and 30rd). There are some other manufactures of steel MP5 magazines; if the design is a copy of the H&K design the tool will work for it. 

Each MP5 magazine is a little different. I have had some magazines where the base plate pops right out on its own and others where I still have to use a screwdriver once the tool has pressed the tangs in. The benefit of my tool is it frees up a hand, and you don’t risk your magazine flying across the room. 

Sear / Hammer Catch Tool

The tool was designed around a factory trigger box / auto sear, of the SEF (Safe, Einzel, Full) flavor. That is what came in my FMP parts kit. That being said after conversations with other people I think it will work in a “Navy” or ambidextrous factory pack as well. 

What has been hit and miss are Semi housings with legal sears. The tool works in some but not all. The conversion work / tolerances seem to be all over the place. I am working on a new tool for converted packs.
