HK Sear / Hammer Catch Tool

Many shooters, law enforcement agencies and military have legal SEF/Navy trigger packs. I don’t know how often those packs get cleaned and lubricated, but I designed this tool to make that less painful. By simplifying the process, the tool encourages regular maintenance and keeps your trigger pack running smoothly.

If you run a legal transferable sear (Flemming, S&H, Qualified, etc) installed in what was originally a semi‑auto pack I have redesigned this tool to be more compatible with those. It is not perfect on those transferable sears but it is better than what you have now. Those conversions were a bit of the wild west, with some customers the tool has worked really well (build tolerances were in our favor) others the tool helped get everything close but they really had to use the pin that I include to bring it home (build tolerances were not in our favor). Aspects that help determine working really well vs better than nothing. 1) shelf design/ length (greater then 0.1″ clearance from shelf to sear). 2) sear pin location, closer to the bottom of the trigger pack the better.

Why I designed this tool Like many shooters, I bought an FMP G3 parts kit and I wanted to understand how the trigger pack functioned. I disassembled it, cleaned and lubricated it. Most of the components went back together easily, but reinstalling the auto sear/hammer catch proved frustrating. Out of that challenge, I created this tool — a simple solution that turns a tedious step into a straightforward task.
